Masterpiece Journey
STEP 1
Drying: 7-14 Days
All water must evaporate from the raw clay to become leather hard then bone dry.
STEP 2
Bisque Firing: 1000'C
To turn the raw clay into durable ceramic it must go through a bisque firing.
STEP 3
Glazing: Chemistry
Hand-applying selected colors for a premium finish by using some chemistry.
STEP 4
Glazing Firing: 1260'C
A final high-temperature firing once the kiln is fully loaded.
STEP 5
Masterpiece: Packaging
After the kiln cool down we can remove and packages your masterpiece.
About Me
Hi, I'm Adriaan du Plessis, the founder and ceramic artist behind Keramiek Studio.
My journey into ceramics began in an unexpected way. Trained as a teacher, I spent several years teaching internationally before discovering a passion for pottery while living in Abu Dhabi. What started as curiosity quickly became a lifelong craft, teaching me patience, creativity, and the joy of creating something meaningful by hand.
Today, I combine my background in education with my love for ceramics to create a welcoming studio where people can slow down, explore their creativity and experience the satisfaction of making something unique. Every piece is individually handcrafted with care, ensuring that no two creations are ever exactly the same.
